Are there restrictions on the numbers to attend any events?
It is not expected that there wll be limits on the numbers attending the Congress itself as the Canberra Convention Centre is a modern, purpose designed building with the capacity to accommodate large events. There may be restrictions on numbers who can attend social activities at specific venues and/or optional tours. Information about any restrictions will be included in the registration information.

A group of us are coming from overseas. Can you advise how we arrange hotel accommodation in Canberra. Are there specific hotels near the Convention Centre and if an outlying hotel is chosen, are shuttle buses planned ?
There are restrictions on some events. Congress itself has no restrictions but the three lunchtime workshops/seminars are limited to 60 participants each. The Thursday evening welcome function at the Australian War Memorial will be limited to about 400 and the Congress dinner at Australian Parliament House to 600.
At this stage accommodation is best sourced via the visitcanberra.com.au website. This site is looked after by Canberra Tourism and is kept up to date.
The David Holman lunchtime talk is one I wanted to attend. I have made an early bird booking ( end of September) – still 6 months out from Congress – and I find that the David Holman lunchtime talk is already FULL!! Please consider changing venues to accommodate a larger audience. Thank you.
Thank you for this question. The lunchtime events have proven very popular. With the agreement of the speakers themselves and the flexibility of the venue, we are now able to raise the limit of the number who can attend from 60 to 98.
